Mohammed bin Salman, Saudi Arabia's Crown Prince, has advised US President Donald Trump to "keep hitting the Iranians hard," White House sources told the New York Times in a report published Sunday.
This is consistent with the instructions of the late Saudi King Abdullah, who reportedly advised Washington repeatedly to "cut off the head of the snake."
Meanwhile, bin Salman and UAE President Mohammed bin Zayed met on Monday, amid growing concerns over whether Gulf states will continue to avoid a direct public confrontation with Tehran, according to Al-Arabiya.
According to the report, the leaders stated that "the continuation of Iran's unjust attacks on the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries represents a dangerous escalation that threatens the security and stability of the region."
It didn't come as a surprise, Bin Salman accused Iran of funding and raising terror groups around its neighbourhood. They have been enjoying the show all along.
The leaders also declared that the Gulf Cooperation Council's member nations will keep up their territorial defense efforts and supply all resources necessary to uphold peace and security in the area.
