As nations get ready for fresh negotiations, Israel promises not to leave Lebanon.

 



Israel has reaffirmed its commitment to staying in Lebanon following the signing of the US-Iran ceasefire.

The governments of Israel and Lebanon are getting ready for a fresh round of negotiations in Washington the following week.

In his first public statement since the US-Iran agreement's text was released, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu declared on Thursday, "We will restore security to the north." "As long as Israel's security needs require it, we must maintain the security zone in southern Lebanon and not leave it."

Isreal has continued to carry out strikes at the Iran backed militant group called Hezbollah.

Meanwhile Hezbollah had continued to fire drones at Israeli group in southern Lebanon killing one soldier.

Isreal and lebabon are set to hold a fresh round of diplomatic talks at Washington on June 23 to June 25.
